Our interview and project with smiss00

Recently I ordered some hair thingy mo-boppers from smiss00.etsy.com. We decided to add them to soap and use this opportunity to get to know smiss00 a bit better. Below is our interview with this upcoming etsy artist and a picture of the fun project we made using one of smiss00's creations.

Q. How long have you been crafting?
A. I've been crafty for as long as I can remember. As a kid I made lots of little crafty things and then got into cross-stitch when i was older. I put some of it to the side for a while but I recently got into the button crafts and having a blast with it!

Q. Why Hairties?
A. I saw a many hair accessories being sold on etsy and I thought it looked like a fun thing to make!

Q. How did you hear about Etsy?
A. My homegirl NemesisProductions

Q. Do you sell through any other medium and do you have a blog?
A. I also have a shop at artfire (smiss00.artfire.com), and my blog can be found at smiss00.blogspot.com

Q.What is the most challenging part of crafting?
A. Finding the time to do it! Sometimes crafting is just not what I feel like doing when I get home from work!

Q.What are your goals for smiss00?
A. I just want to make things people enjoy, but it would be fabulous if I could
become rich doing so! lol

Another cosmetic data website

Hi everyone. I was searching for a safe emulsifier for my body butters so I can add water and they won't be so oily. In the process I found this site for checking your cosmetic care ingredients. It is similar to the other one I posted, but it is always good to have more than one source. Its looking like I am still on the search.

What happens when Desert Soapstone and TBS Creations unite!

Recently I ordered some bobbi pins from TBS Creations, an Etsy based shop. My purpose was to make the Tween soap I saw on the SoapQueen Blog by Anne Marie Faiola. I couldn't find any Bobbi's that would work in town and then I remembered I took the handmade pledge on Etsy so I better keep it. Once I began cyber shopping on Etsy I found a plethora of items meeting my criteria and settled on TBS Creations as they were the most visually appealing for the task at hand. Voila! This is what happens when soap meets hair thingy mobobbers and they unite. The scents are Pear Glace (green) White Ginger and Amber (purple) and Plumeria (pink and black). If you are interested in these soaps please visit Desert Soapstone. If you are a crafter that would like to combine our arts convo me from Etsy conversations or add a comment below. What can we do next??? Thanks TBS Creations!

A Great Photographer

Frankincense and Myrrh.--->

Recently my husband and I found ourselves in the studio of local Photographer, Christopher Marchetti. To see his work click here. It was somewhat of a spontaneous thing. Our son's first birthday had rolled around and we needed pictures. My husband hates "canned" photographs from Wal-Mart or Sears, which usually means we are winging it on our own on some back beaten path near a stream or cliff. Not a great idea with a little one in tow. Chris had been the photographer for many of the shots you see above and for many of the shots on my Etsy site. To shop click here. Not only is he a kind person full of great stories and vibrance, but he is talented too. Able to shoot things from actors and food to architecture and nature. He is able to capture the energy in everything. He says the camera does it, but we all know it takes a special person to get the shot just right. I call him a friend and he has treated me as such. So if you see a bad or questionable shot on here, you can be sure I didn't see him that time and that it was just me trying to figure out how to use my camera.

Latest Custom Order from LeenTheGraphicsQueen

Above you see some of Leen's work. Judging by the photo I think it is safe to say she's incredibly talented. To see more of her stuff go to www.LeenTheGraphicsQueen.etsy.com

Hello fellow bloggers, ETSY fans, soap lovers, friends and yadda yadda yadda. Above you will see I am posting about my latest custom order. LeenTheGraphicsQueen.etsy.com ordered some mechanic soap for her hubby. We are so pleased with the way this soap turned out that we would like to permanently add it to our collection. Here you see the Grime Reaper soap. It is ideal for gardener's, mechanics and chefs alike. It contains pumice for that hard to get grease, coffee for the garlic hands you need to get rid of before dinner and lemon and orange oil not only for scent, but as an added degreaser. We hope once this 8 bar pack is cured that Leen will love it as much as we do.

A great site for checking your bath ingredients

Hello everyone!
I have been neglectful in my blogging, I apologize. Today is a short post, but I wanted to tell you all about this website http://www.cosmeticdatabase.com It is a great place to search for the ingredients listed on your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc... You will be amazed at the harmful things people put in their products just to save a buck or make a buck or make a lather or a wrinkle cream...yadda yadda yadda. Knowing what you put on your body is as important as what you put in.
